Mysore is the second biggest city in the state of Karnataka. It lies 140 kms from the State headquarters, Bangalore.
Mysore Palace
Built in 1912 -the former grand residence of Mysore kings, exudes a grandeur
unmatched. The palace today is treasure house of excellent carvings and works
of art from all over the world. The main attractions are the Golden throne,
ornate Durbar hall and Royal gallery.
A silhouette of the Mysore Palace illuminated with ninety seven thousand bulbs shimmering against
an inky black night is one of the most enduring images of the city.
The Mysore Palace is open all days of the week, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The palace is
illuminated on Sundays, national holidays and state festivals from 7:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The palace is illuminated between 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only during the Dasare festival.
Brindavan Gardens

This fabled terraced gardens
with musical fountain and laser shows is 19 kms from the city. You can see
a rare harmony of swirling waters, twinkling lights and melodious music here.
Sir Jayachamarajendra Art
Sir Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery Located inside the Jagmohan palace this gallery has collections of exquisite paintings, including works of Ravi Varma, Russian Svetoslav Roerich and the traditional Mysore Gold leaf style of painting.
Chamundi Hills
Towering over the city, 13 kms away from Mysore with 1000 steps, Chamundi temples houses Chamundeswari, the patron deity of Wodeyars. The 4..8 m tall monolith Nandi and the gigantic Mahishaura statue are the main attractions.
